“Breaking Barriers: Supporting Children with Epilepsy”
Today, on World Epilepsy Day, Child Neurology Society of Nigeria stands together to raise awareness about epilepsy, a neurological condition that affects millions worldwide – including thousands of children.
What is epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes seizures, which can be scary for kids and families.
The challenge:
- 1 in 100 children live with epilepsy
- Many face stigma, bullying, and limited access to treatment
- Some kids struggle to find the right medication or treatment
We can make a difference: - Raise awareness about epilepsy
- Support families and kids living with epilepsy
- Advocate for better access to treatment and care
*Let’s break barriers: - Educate ourselves and others about epilepsy
- Encourage inclusion and support for kids with epilepsy
- Push for more research and resources
To kids with epilepsy: You are strong, capable, and loved. Don’t let epilepsy define you – you can achieve your dreams.
Let’s work together to create a supportive world for children with epilepsy🌸 - Author:- Professor (Mrs) Offiong Uduak, CNSN President (2026-2028)
